AI ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS

Process engineering and AI for the minerals industry. From ore to optimum.

IONMET advises mining companies on mineral processing, process design, simulation, technical training and the AI tools that keep plants improving.

Process flow diagram PFD-001: copper concentrator Run-of-mine ore is crushed in a gyratory crusher, stockpiled and ground in a SAG mill with pebble recycle and a ball mill in closed circuit with cyclones. Cyclone overflow is conditioned with collector and lime, floated in a six-cell rougher bank and upgraded in a column cleaner. Concentrate is thickened and filtered; tailings are thickened and pumped to the tailings storage facility. Approach

One method, from bench test to plant.

The same five stages on every assignment. Each stage hands measured numbers to the next, so conclusions can be traced back to the ore.

  1. Characterise

Mineralogy, chemistry and liberation of representative samples.

  2. Test

Testwork designed around the questions that decide the project.

  3. Model

Circuit models and simulators calibrated on the test data.

  4. Design

Flowsheet, mass balance, equipment and economics.

  5. Optimise

Data and AI tools that keep the plant improving after start-up.
